White Castle Pie

I found this recipe years ago when I was doing a low carb diet. While it's certainly not for the low-fat followers, it is a pretty tasty dish.

White Castle Pie
1 lb ground beef
1 packet dry onion soup mix
2 eggs
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup heavy cream
8 oz shredded cheddar cheese
Salt and pepper to taste

Brown the hamburger with about half of the onion soup mix. Drain fat and season with salt and pepper. Stir in remaining soup mix and "slide" meat into a greased 9 or 10 inch pie plate. Stir in half the cheese, then top with remaining cheese. Beat eggs, mayo, cream and dash of pepper in a small bowl. Pour evenly over meat mixture. Bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.

For the total slider experience, serve with dill pickles and a squirt of mustard!

I wonder what would happen if you would take the White Castle Pie into a White Castle and eat it? I think it would blow their minds...plus, eating something White Castle-ish just isn't the same unless you eat it in the company of a couple of rank-smelling hobos...
